Bryden Wood win at the New Civil Engineer Tech Awards

We are thrilled that in a category with impressive entries from others on the shortlist, Bryden Wood, the team supplying the Cable Route Management System in partnership with Transport for London (TfL) and Innovate UK, for the TIES Living Lab project – which aims at cultural change, cost effectiveness and innovation within the transport sector and construction industries – are celebrating being the winners of ‘Transport Infrastructure Champion’ at the New Civil Engineer Tech Awards!

This winning design automation technology for underground tunnelling upgrades makes the process of cable routing much more efficient, as well as being easier to maintain and cutting costs. It brings existing software systems together with management software, geographic information systems and other information tools, to establish a rules-based platform for optimising the routing of cables in tunnels.

The judges said:

‘This innovative solution harnesses and develops previous automated design approaches and combines with new digital methodologies to solve a long-standing challenge. The cable routing system delivers significant safety, time and cost benefits as well as sizeable carbon reductions. The scale of future ambitions and transferability of this solution across different sectors is clearly evident.’
